"Venus" is a provocative series that captures distorted stereotypes about women's bodies, referencing Venus, the goddess of love, fertility, and beauty. Throughout art history, Venus has symbolized women and a certain standard of beauty. By altering a woman's body and capturing body parts in unlikely places, I present unrealistic images of the female form that ironically mirrors societal demands and stereotypes. Defining an ideal form of a female body is as abstract and varied as the images in the Venus series.
